Who We Are

LitUK is operated by Gome Software Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17181136). Our registered office is at 124 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX. We act as the data controller for any personal data processed through this site or app and can be reached at hello@gomesoftware.com. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration number ZC140932. Our D-U-N-S number is 234781576. This policy covers both the LitUK website and the LitUK mobile apps for iOS and Android.

Data We Collect — Website

We do not require an account and do not collect personal data from visitors. When you take a practice test, your answers and progress for the current test are stored only in your browser's session storage so an accidental refresh doesn't lose your place. This data never leaves your device and is cleared when you close the browser tab.

We use Google Analytics to gather anonymised usage data such as pages visited, session duration, and general device type. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you. If you decline cookies, Analytics runs in anonymous mode (IP anonymisation, no persistent client identifiers).

Data We Collect — Mobile App

The LitUK app stores your study progress, mistakes, favourites and settings locally on your device. None of this data leaves the device. The app may use Google AdMob to display ads and Firebase Analytics to gather aggregate, anonymous usage data. On iOS, the App Tracking Transparency dialog is shown before any ad tracking occurs — you can decline at any time in iOS Settings. On Android, you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in Google settings.

Premium features in the app are a one-time purchase processed by Apple or Google — there is no recurring subscription billed by us. Your entitlement is verified with the App Store or Google Play; we do not store your payment details.

Cookies (Website)

  • Preference cookies: to remember your cookie consent choice (stored locally in your browser).
  • Analytics cookies: placed by Google Analytics — only if you accept cookies. Without consent, Analytics runs in anonymous mode and no tracking cookies are written.

You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser storage or adjusting your browser cookie settings.

Third-Party Services

Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, erase, restrict, port, and object to the processing of your personal data. As we collect minimal personal data, most of these rights are satisfied by default. For any data held by Google Analytics, AdMob, or Firebase, please refer to Google's privacy controls.

Children's Privacy

LitUK does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Data Retention

The website does not retain personal data on its servers. Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard policy (14 months by default).

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision.
